What is the Dow Jones Composite Average?
Dow Jones Composite Average:
The Dow Jones Composite Average is a stock index contains 65 companies.
Its components are the stocks that make up the Dow Jones Industrial Average
(DJIA), the Dow Jones Transportation Average (DJTA), and the Dow Jones
Utility Average (DJUA).

All four averages are price weighted.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average has 30 Blue Chip stocks. The Dow Jones
Transportation Average has 20 stocks in the airline, trucking and railroad
industries. The Dow Jones Utility Average has 15 stocks in the electric or gas
power industry.
