Ginnie Mae is a U. S. Government corporation that guarantees the
payment of principle and interest on certain mortgage loans.

Ginnie Mae is another name for the Government National Mortgage
Association (GNMA) .

Ginnie Mae buys home mortgages from financial institutions and sells them
to investors as mortgage backed securities. Ginnie Maes are the only
mortgage backed security that is guaranteed by the full faith and credit of
the U. S. Government.
